Mansa: Nearly 23 days after anti-drug activist Parvinder Singh Jhotta’s death, his body was shifted from Mansa Civil Hospital to PGI Chandigarh shortly before midnight on Thursday for a postmortem, following an agreement on the examination.
Meanwhile, Jhotta’s father, Bhim Singh, refused the government’s offer of compensation or a job for any family member. He said the family neither wanted financial compensation nor government employment, adding that their fight against drugs would continue.
After Jhotta’s body reached PGI Chandigarh for the postmortem, his father began a hunger strike and demanded the transfer of the Mansa SSP.
In an emotional statement, Bhim Singh said, “From now on, I will not eat even a single grain of food. I will continue my fight against drugs. Even if I lose my life in this struggle, I will have no regret.”
