Ludhiana man returning from Australia kills wife over suspicion of infidelity

Ludhiana: A 50-year-old man allegedly stabbed his wife to death at their home in Ludhiana over suspicions about her character, police said on Monday.

The victim was identified as Kamaldeep Kaur, 49. The accused, her husband Ravinder Singh, works as a pickup van driver in Ludhiana. The incident took place late Saturday evening at their residence in Vikas Nagar, on Pakhowal Road.

According to police, the couple had travelled to Australia, where their younger son lives. Kamaldeep returned to India around four months ago, while Ravinder came back on October 29. Their elder son, Gagandeep Singh, was living at the family’s Ludhiana residence.

Station house officer Gurmukh Singh said preliminary investigations indicated that suspicion over his wife’s character was the alleged motive behind the murder.

In his complaint, Gagandeep said he had not noticed any arguments or differences between his parents after his father returned to India.
