Amritsar: Tarsem Singh, father of jailed Khadoor Sahib MP Amritpal Singh, has announced that no other member of his family will contest elections apart from Amritpal Singh.
Tarsem Singh said the family has decided to stay away from the race for political positions and uphold its stand against dynastic politics.
Speaking in Amritsar, he said the decision was aimed at giving grassroots workers, honest leaders and young people an opportunity to take up leadership roles and work on issues concerning Punjab and the Sikh community.
He said the family’s role would remain limited to supporting the ongoing struggles concerning Punjab and panthic issues, rather than seeking political positions for themselves.
