New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday released a second late-night video message, thanking people for the positive response to his first video on the issue of examination paper leaks and reiterating the government’s commitment to addressing students’ concerns.
The video, shared on Instagram, comes a day after the Prime Minister issued an unusual late-night message announcing the Centre’s plan to bring in a stringent anti-paper leak law.
In the latest video, Modi said he had received several constructive suggestions after his previous address and expressed gratitude to people for their feedback.
“I got an opportunity to connect with you again late at night. I have received a very positive response to yesterday’s video, and I thank everyone for their valuable suggestions,” the Prime Minister said.
The back-to-back video messages come amid nationwide Gen-Z-led protests over the alleged NEET paper leak and demands for greater accountability in the examination system.
In his earlier address, Modi announced that the Centre would introduce a new anti-paper leak Bill during the ongoing Monsoon Session of Parliament. The proposed legislation is expected to provide for stricter punishment for those involved in examination fraud and the establishment of fast-track courts for speedy trials.
The Prime Minister had described paper leaks as a serious issue affecting lakhs of students and their families, saying the government was committed to preventing such incidents and strengthening the integrity of the country’s examination system.
