New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said the government would not spare any paper leak mafia or organised cheating syndicates, a day after Parliament passed the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill, 2026.
In a video message posted on Instagram, the Prime Minister described the legislation as a major step towards ensuring transparency and integrity in the country’s examination system.
Modi said anyone attempting to play with the future of India’s youth would face strict action, adding that this was precisely why tougher laws were needed to tackle examination-related fraud.
“We brought this Bill before Parliament and, as promised, it was discussed in detail by members of both Houses over the past two days,” the Prime Minister said in the video.
He noted that both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha had now passed the legislation containing stringent legal provisions.
According to Modi, the new law will help safeguard the sanctity and transparency of public examinations while enabling authorities to take stronger action against those involved in paper leaks and examination malpractice.
