Chandigarh: Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha and senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will visit Punjab’s Sangrur district on November 4, Punjab Congress president Pargat Singh said.
The visit comes ahead of the 2027 Punjab assembly elections and is expected to give fresh momentum to the party’s preparations in the Malwa region, a key electoral battleground in the state.
Pargat Singh said the visit would provide a clear message to party leaders and workers to prepare for “Mission 2027”. He stressed that Malwa plays a crucial role in Punjab politics, with its assembly constituencies often influencing the overall election outcome.
He added that launching the campaign from Sangrur would be an important part of the party’s strategy to strengthen its grassroots outreach and raise issues affecting the people of Punjab.
