Main shooter injured during escape attempt
Police said an Ajnala police team took Baljit Gori to the crime scene to gather evidence and verify the route allegedly used by the accused to flee after the attack.
As officers were getting out of their vehicle, Gori allegedly snatched a service revolver from a sub-inspector and attempted to escape, triggering a scuffle with the police personnel.
Two shots were fired during the confrontation. According to police, the first bullet passed through the roof of the police vehicle, while the second struck Gori in the leg.
The police team overpowered him and took him to a hospital in Ajnala for treatment.
