New Delhi: The Delhi Police Special Cell has arrested three people, including a woman, for allegedly writing pro-Khalistan slogans at two Metro stations ahead of Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh’s concert in the capital.
According to police, the slogans were found at Jahangirpuri and Shastri Nagar Metro stations. The arrests followed an investigation into the graffiti, which also contained objectionable remarks targeting Dosanjh and messages supporting the banned organisation Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) and Khalistan.
Police said the slogans were first spotted near Gate No. 1 of Jahangirpuri Metro station on October 29, where messages had been written on the floor. Similar graffiti was discovered on October 30 on an inner wall of the staircase near Gate No. 2 at Shastri Nagar Metro station.
Dosanjh performed at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Delhi on October 30 as part of his ‘Aura India Tour’.
The Special Cell is investigating the incident and the alleged involvement of the arrested individuals.
