New Delhi: The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has introduced changes aimed at giving mobile users more recharge options, particularly those who do not require mobile data.
Under the new provisions, telecom companies will have to offer Voice & SMS Only Special Tariff Vouchers (STVs) for customers who only use calling and SMS services.
Operators will also be required to provide:
Plans with 30-day validity
Plans with validity of more than 30 days
A plan that renews on the same date every month
The move is aimed at providing greater flexibility to mobile users who do not want to pay for data services they do not use
