New York: US President Donald Trump, while addressing the United Nations General Assembly, warned Iran that the United States could take action against the Islamic Republic if a peace agreement is not reached.
Trump said he faced a major decision over whether to pursue an agreement that would allow Iran to rebuild and become stronger, or move towards destroying the Islamic Republic.
At the same time, Trump said he believed an agreement with Iran could be reached shortly after the US midterm elections.
Trump said Iran was waiting to see how the US performs in the midterm elections. He stressed that he was not a candidate in the elections and that their outcome would not influence his decisions regarding Iran.
He said his most important priority was to ensure that Iran never possesses a nuclear weapon.
