Significant increase in Indian students going to US for study
New Delhi: There has been a 35 per cent increase in the number of Indians going to study in the US in November. Overall, the number of international students in the US has increased by 12 per cent in the 2022-23 academic year, according to the latest report. More than 10 lakh students came from abroad. American colleges admitted 269,000 students from India, more than ever before and second only to China.
Most of the graduates came for the programmes. China still leads the US with 290,000 students, but the number of students from the country has declined for the third consecutive year. South Korea, Canada, Vietnam, Taiwan and Nigeria are among the countries sending the most students to the US after China and India.
