Miscreants open fire at IAS Varinder Kumar Sharma’s house in Chandigarh on Diwali night
Chandigarh News: On Diwali night, gunshots were fired at the residence of Virendra Kumar Sharma, an IAS officer of the Punjab cadre, located in Sector 24, Chandigarh.
The incident occurred while Virendra Kumar Sharma, along with his entire family, was present at home. No damage occurred despite unidentified assailants firing at his official cell.
Virendra Kumar Sharma, currently serving in the Health Department of the Punjab Government with his current posting in Chandigarh, was with his family after offering prayers at his government residence when the assailants fired upon his house from the adjacent road.
Fortunately, the bullet, which struck a room window secured with ply, caused no harm as it became lodged in the ply itself, creating a hole.
The police is investigating the matter.
