Biggest Leader of Those Who Stole Shri Ram Mandir Chanda-Chori Comes to Punjab to Lecture People on Honesty: Arvind Kejriwal

PM Must Answer for Ram Mandir Chanda Chori: AAP

Punjab E News (17th July 2026): The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) condemned Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his Punjab visit, saying that instead of answering serious questions, he chose to mislead the people of Punjab with lies and deliver lectures on honesty. AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal said that the biggest leader of those involved in the Shri Ram Mandir chanda chori had come to Punjab to preach honesty. The party also demanded that the Prime Minister answer questions on the Shri Ram Mandir chanda chori, the repeated recovery of drugs through Gujarat’s Mundra Port, and the Centre’s pending dues of around ₹50,000 crore to Punjab.

The AAP affirmed that the BJP has no right to speak about Punjab when it was the BJP’s own double engine government that ruined the state between 2014 and 2017, and accused the Prime Minister of spreading falsehoods instead of addressing Punjab’s real concerns.

Taking to X, AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal stated, “The country’s biggest leader of those who stole donations meant for the Shri Ram Temple came to Punjab today to deliver lectures on honesty.”

In a statement, the AAP said, “The Prime Minister came to Punjab to deliver lectures on honesty, but he must first answer questions about the Ram Temple Chanda-Chori.”

Responding to the Prime Minister’s remarks on drugs, AAP said that the BJP should first explain the repeated seizures of drugs at Gujarat’s Mundra Port. “Instead of answering how such huge consignments of drugs reached Mundra Port, the BJP is trying to divert attention. The country has even heard bizarre explanations that the drugs were eaten by rats. Before pointing fingers at Punjab, the BJP must answer for what is happening in Gujarat,” the party pointed out.

Targeting the Prime Minister’s appeal for a “double engine government”, AAP Punjab Media In-charge Baltej Pannu said that Punjab had already witnessed the consequences of BJP-backed double engine rule. “From 2014 to 2017, Punjab had a double engine government. It was during that period that ‘chitta’ (drugs) spread the most in the state and gangster culture flourished. Their own minister brought drugs into Punjab. The Prime Minister cannot erase his so-called double-engine government’s record by making political speeches,” he said.

The AAP Punjab Media In-charge further said that while the Prime Minister accused Punjab of running on debt, he deliberately remained silent on the Centre’s pending dues to the state. “The Centre owes Punjab around ₹50,000 crore. Punjab’s flood relief funds are pending. The Rural Development Fund (RDF) dues are also pending. Instead of announcing the release of Punjab’s rightful money, the Prime Minister chose to spread falsehoods about the state’s financial condition,” it stated.

The AAP concluded that the Prime Minister has made a habit of spreading misinformation in every election-bound state. “The Prime Minister goes to states facing elections and serves lies to the people. Such politics may work elsewhere, but Punjabis will not accept politics based on falsehoods. The people of Punjab know the truth and will not be misled by such speeches,” the party asserted.
