10 BJP MPs, including Tomar, resign after winning assembly polls
Ten of the 12 BJP MPs elected to the legislative assemblies in the recent elections resigned from Parliament today and two more MPs will also resign. The 10 MPs who have resigned include nine Lok Sabha members and one Rajya Sabha member, including Union ministers Narendra Singh Tomar and Prahlad Patel, officials said. Sources said two other MPs Union ministers Renuka Singh and Mahant Balaknath will also resign from the Lok Sabha.
The move is part of the party leadership’s process to elect new chief ministers in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan. The other MPs who have resigned are Diya Kumari, Rajvardhan Singh Rathore and Rakesh Singh.
