AAP-Congress agree on seats in other states including Delhi-Goa
New Delhi: There appears to be a consensus on the AAP-Congress alliance regarding the Lok Sabha elections. According to sources, AAP can contest 4 seats in Delhi, while Congress can contest 3.
In the Delhi alliance formula of Congress and AAP, the Aam Aadmi Party can contest elections from New Delhi, North West Delhi, West Delhi, and South Delhi.
Simultaneously, Congress can contest elections from East Delhi, North East Delhi, and Chandni Chowk. A meeting was held at the residence of Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal shortly before. A formal announcement may be made soon.
According to sources, besides Delhi, the alliance has been decided in other states as well. In Delhi, the Aam Aadmi Party will contest 4 seats, while Congress will contest 3 seats.
The Congress has allotted two seats in Gujarat to the Aam Aadmi Party. Aam Aadmi Party candidates will contest from Bharuch and Bhavnagar seats in Gujarat.
The Aam Aadmi Party has conceded the Chandigarh seat to the Congress. In Goa, the Aam Aadmi Party had declared its candidate for the South Goa seat, but now the Aam Aadmi Party will relinquish this seat to the Congress. Congress will allocate one seat in Haryana to the Aam Aadmi Party.
On the other hand, in Punjab, the Congress and the AAP have decided to contest the elections separately with mutual consent. CM Kejriwal had stated that there is no estrangement between us.
