FIR against 15 Congress leaders, including 2 MLAs for gherao house of Haryana CM

Chandigarh: A case has been registered against 15 people, including two Punjab MLAs, for allegedly protesting outside Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal’s residence, the police said on Saturday.

Fifteen Congress members, including MLAs Pargat Singh and Sukhwinder Singh, have been booked for assaulting police officials and obstructing government work.

The protest was held to prevent farmers from Punjab from leaving for Delhi and to voice their protest against them. On Tuesday, Congress workers led by Pargat Singh, Barinder Singh Dhillon, Angad Singh, and Udayveer Singh Dhillon staged a protest outside the Haryana CM’s residence.

The Congress leaders said that despite the farmers peacefully marching to Delhi, they were being hindered from proceeding further by the Haryana Police.

It is deemed inappropriate to use pellet guns and tear gas against them. The Sector 3 police station has registered a case against MLA Pargat Singh, MLAs Sukhwinder Singh, Varinder Singh, Samit Singh, Khushboo Jatta, Lakhwinder Singh, Harman Sekhon, Sikander Boora, Sachin Nain, Udaybir Dhillon, Surjeet Singh, Angad Singh, Sanjeev Sharma, Karnail Singh, and others.
