New Delhi: The ‘INDIA Bloc Mega Rally’ organized by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is going to be held at Ramlila Maidan today.

In view of this event, the police have made tight security. Along with checking arrangements at every gate of Ramlila Maidan, paramilitary forces have been deployed in the surrounding area.

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, former party president Rahul Gandhi, Nationalist Congress Party (SP) chief Sharad Pawar and other senior leaders are expected to attend the rally.

The ‘Save Democracy’ rally at the national capital’s Ramlila Maidan has been organised in the wake of the arrest of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the Delhi liquor scam last week, but it is being seen as a show of unity and strength of the India alliance ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.

The rally is expected to raise its voice strongly against the alleged misuse of central agencies like the Enforcement Directorate (ED), CBI and the Income Tax Department by the opposition alliance.

The issue has gained momentum after the arrest of Kejriwal and former Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren and the Income Tax Department notice issued to the Congress. The Income Tax Department has also issued a tax notice of Rs 1,800 crore to the Congress.
