After 50-day parole, Ram Rahim Singh returns to Sunaria jail in Rohtak

Chandigarh: Gurmeet Ram Rahim, who is serving a sentence in the Sadhvi sexual assault and journalist Chhatrapati murder case, has once again been incarcerated.

Ram Rahim Singh has been transferred back to Sunaria jail from Barnawa Ashram in Uttar Pradesh amid tight security. Ram Rahim arrived at Rohtak jail around 5 pm.

He was granted a 50-day parole by the jail authorities on February 19. Whenever Ram Rahim is granted parole or furlough, questions are raised about the jail administration and the government.

This time, the High Court also sought a response from the government regarding Ram Rahim’s parole, and a strict stance was taken. In the last two years, Ram Rahim has been out of jail for a total of 184 days, i.e., about six months, due to parole and furlough. If the parole of the last 50 days is added to these 184 days, then the total comes to 234 days, which is more than seven months.

It was only after receiving such quick and lengthy parole that the Punjab and Haryana High Court displayed strictness and reprimanded the Haryana government recently.
