After SC’s strictness, SBI gave all the data including electoral bond numbers to the Election Commission

New Delhi: State Bank of India (SBI) filed an affidavit in the Supreme Court today stating that it has complied with the orders of the Supreme Court. The ECI has been given the bond number of the donor and the beneficiary party.

SBI Chairman Dinesh Khara told the Supreme Court that the bank has now cumulatively given to the ECI the name of the EB buyer, the denomination and the specific number of EBs, the name of the party redeeming the EBs and the last four digits of the party’s bank account. No other details of electoral bonds are now with the bank, it added.

After the Supreme Court’s reprimand, the State Bank of India has submitted all the information on electoral bonds to the Election Commission.

The data given to the Election Commission includes all unique numbers of electoral bonds. Through these unique numbers, information about donors and political parties receiving donations will be available.
