Boycott Maldives: EaseMyTrip launches economical Lakshadweep tour package

New Delhi: The impact of tension between India and the Maldives is now evident on tourist and travel portals. Following objectionable remarks about Prime Minister Modi, a boycott trend against the Maldives has swiftly emerged in India, leading to many Indians canceling their travel plans to the Maldives.

Simultaneously, individuals who had previously booked tickets to the Maldives are now canceling their reservations.

Moreover, EaseMyTrip, an online travel portal, has suspended flights to the Maldives and introduced a more economical tour package for Lakshadweep.

Prashant Piti, co-founder of EaseMyTrip, emphasized the company’s Indian origin in a social media video, expressing solidarity with the country and government amid the recent dispute with the Maldives.

He urged Indians to explore domestic travel options, unveiling a special package for Lakshadweep and encouraging people to choose it over international destinations.

Five new packages for Lakshadweep have been launched on the portal, aiming to elevate tourist spots like Ayodhya and Lakshadweep to international status.
