Chief Justices of seven high courts including Delhi appointed
New Delhi: Chief Justices of seven High Courts, including Delhi, were appointed today. The appointments were made following amendments to some of the recommendations from July 11 by the Supreme Court Collegium on Tuesday. Justice Manmohan Singh, the Acting Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court, has been elevated to Chief Justice of the Himachal Pradesh High Court. Similarly, Justice Rajiv Shakdher, a judge of the Delhi High Court, has also been elevated to Chief Justice of the Himachal Pradesh High Court.
Justice Nitin Madhukar Jamdar and Justice K. R. Sriram, judges of the Bombay High Court, have been appointed as Chief Justices of the Kerala High Court and the Madras High Court, respectively. Justice Indira Prasanna Mukherjee, a judge of the Calcutta High Court, has been appointed Chief Justice of the Meghalaya High Court.
Justice Tashi Rabstan of the Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh High Court has been appointed as Chief Justice of the same court. Meanwhile, Justice Suresh Kumar Kait, a judge of the Delhi High Court, has been elevated to Chief Justice of the Madhya Pradesh High Court.
