Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi to come to Haryana for campaigning
New Delhi: The election atmosphere is heating up in Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, and Chandigarh. After the withdrawal of nominations in Haryana, 223 candidates remain for the 10 Lok Sabha seats.
Apart from the BJP and Congress, INLD and JJP candidates are also in the fray. Polling will be held on May 25.
Nominations for the four Lok Sabha seats in Himachal Pradesh have ended, and polling will take place on June 1. There is a direct contest between the BJP and the Congress.
Nominations for Chandigarh’s lone Lok Sabha seat have also ended, with polling scheduled for June 1. There is a contest between the BJP and the AAP-Congress I.N.D.I.A. bloc.
Amid this, Congress star campaigner Priyanka Gandhi will not campaign in Haryana. Haryana Congress leaders are yet to get her time.
However, the party has released Rahul Gandhi’s schedule. He will be in Haryana for two days.
On May 22, Rahul Gandhi will hold a public meeting in Charkhi Dadri to seek votes for the Congress candidate. He will also campaign for party candidate Rao Dan Singh from the Bhiwani-Mahendragarh Lok Sabha seat on the same day.
Additionally, he will remain in Haryana on May 23. The party has planned many of his public meetings for this day, but locations have not yet been decided. The party chief Mallikarjun Kharge will also campaign in the state.
