Counting of votes for Mizoram Assembly elections begins
Delhi: The counting of votes for the Mizoram Assembly elections has begun. Elaborate security arrangements have been made for the counting of votes today. The election is expected to witness a triangular contest between the ruling Mizo National Front (MNF), Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM) and the Congress.
Counting of votes in Mizoram was to be held on Sunday along with Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Telangana.
However, following appeals by political parties, NGOs, churches and student bodies, the Election Commission postponed it as Sunday holds special significance for the people of Christian-majority Mizoram.
