New Delhi: The Animal Welfare Board of India (AWBI) has withdrawn its appeal to celebrate Cow Hug Day on February 14. However, the board has said that there are benefits of hugging a cow.

Actually, February 14 is celebrated as Valentine’s Day. Since the appeal to celebrate Cow Hug Day on this day, people were expressing displeasure on social media, while some were supporting this appeal. Hundreds of memes and jokes were also made about this appeal on social media.
The AWBI order issued on February 10 stated that the appeal of the Animal Welfare Board of India to celebrate Cow Hug Day on February 14, 2023, has been withdrawn following a directive from the ministry. However, the reason for this has not been given.
