Helicopters, drones and sniffer dogs deployed to search for terrorists, 12 people detained in Poonch terror attack

Poonch: Security forces have launched a massive search operation in the dense forest of Bata-Doria area after five soldiers were killed in a militant attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch on Thursday. On Friday, drones and sniffer dogs were used in the operation, while an MI helicopter reconnaissed the dense forest area. Officials gave this information on Friday.
At least 12 people were detained for questioning on Friday in connection with the attack.
A team of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) visited the spot and inspected the area and the vehicle that was attacked. Top police and Army officials, including Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh, ADGP Mukesh Singh, reviewed the operation, officials said.
According to officials, the entire area has been cordoned off and drones and sniffer dogs are being used to track down the militants. The soldiers killed in the attack belonged to the Rashtriya Rifles unit.
