Highest single-day spike of 3,016 new covid-19 cases in the country after six months, Delhi government calls emergency meeting

New Delhi: India reported a single-day spike of 3,016 new covid-19 cases, the highest in six months, while the active cases rose to 13,509, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated today.

A total of 3,375 cases were registered on October 2 last year. There have been 14 deaths due to Covid-19 in the country and the total number has increased to 5,30,862. There have been three deaths in Maharashtra, two in Delhi and one in Himachal pradesh due to corona and eight deaths have been reported in Kerala.
Meanwhile, the Delhi government has convened an emergency meeting today due to the rising cases of Corona.
