“I am scared, not running away”, says Ranveer Allahabadia amid controversy over obscene jokes

Mumbai: YouTuber and podcaster Ranveer Allahabadia, facing backlash for making obscene jokes about parents on comedian Samay Raina’s show ‘India’s Got Late’, stated on Saturday that he is cooperating with the police but is also receiving threats.

In an Instagram story, Allahabadia said, “My team and I are cooperating with the police and all other officials. I will follow due process and be available for all agencies.”

“My statement about my parents was insensitive and insulting. It is my moral responsibility to do better, and I truly apologise for that.”

Regarding the threats, he revealed, “I have seen people threatening to kill me and harm my family. Some even entered my mother’s clinic posing as patients. I feel scared and don’t know what to do. But I am not running away. I have full faith in the police and the judiciary of the country.”
