India announce squad for Asia Cup: Rahul, Iyer return, Verma also got a place
Punjab E News: Kl Rahul and Shreyas Iyer, who were out for a while due to injuries, were today included in the Indian squad for the Asia Cup starting August 31, while young batsman Tilak Verma has also got a place for the first time for one-day matches. Wicketkeeper-batsman Sanju Samson has been included in the team as Rahul’s backup.
Announcing the squad, chairman of selectors Ajit Agarkar said pacer Krishna, who made a comeback in the ongoing series against Ireland after recovering from an injury, has also been included in the squad for the Asia Cup.
Tilak Verma performed brilliantly in his first T20 series against the West Indies. The 20-year-old is currently on a tour of Ireland
