INLD state president Rathee shot dead in Haryana, gunman also killed

New Delhi: Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) Haryana unit president Nafe Singh Rathee was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Haryana’s Jhajjar district on Sunday, police said. Rathi, a former MLA, was travelling in a sports utility vehicle (SUV) when he was attacked by car-borne assailants in Jhajjar’s Bahadurgarh town.

Rathee was shot dead in Jhajjar district, INLD leader Abhay Chautala said. He accused the government of failing to provide security despite a threat to Rathi’s life and demanded resignation of the state chief minister and the home minister.

The police said that the matter is being investigated.
