Blockade of trains in Punjab on March 11: Mazdoor union announces against Centre-Punjab government

Chandigarh: In Punjab, the Gramin Mazdoor Union Punjab and the Bhoomi Sangharsh Committee have announced to block the wheel of trains on March 11.

Gramin Mazdoor Union State President Tarsem Peter, Secretary Kashmir Singh Ghugshore and Bhoomi Prapti Sangharsh Samiti President Mukesh Maloud said that the central and Punjab governments are not paying attention to the demands of the workers to resolve the burning issues. Rail wheels will be blocked against this practice.

He said that according to the Land Ceiling Act 1972 in Punjab, no family can own more than 17.5 acres of land. But, flouting this law, big landowners have hundreds of acres of land and on the other hand, the workers families do not have enough material to live in, not even a roof.
