Karnataka Congress leader alleges ‘love jihad’ after daughter’s murder

New Delhi: The case of the murder of the daughter of a Karnataka councillor remains the latest issue of confrontation between the Congress and the BJP.

The Congress leader’s daughter was stabbed seven times by a former student in a college in Hubballi. The police suspect that the same student killed the girl for not obeying.

23-year-old Neha Hiremath was a first-year student of Master of Computer Application and studied in college in Hubballi.

A boy named Fayaz Khondunaik was earlier his classmate. According to a senior police officer, Fayaz, who stabbed Neha several times, claimed during interrogation that the two were in a relationship, but Neha had been trying to avoid him for some time.
