Lucknow edge past Rajasthan by 2 runs in a thriller
Jaipur: Lucknow Super Giants defeated Rajasthan Royals by two runs in a closely contested IPL match held here today.
Batting first, Lucknow posted 180 for 5 in their allotted 20 overs. Aiden Markram led the charge with a quickfire 66 off 45 balls, including five fours and three sixes. Ayush Badoni supported well with 50 runs from 34 deliveries. Abdul Samad remained unbeaten on 30 off just 10 balls, while David Miller finished not out on 7.
In reply, Rajasthan Royals fell just short, managing 178 for 5. Yashasvi Jaiswal top-scored with a fluent 74, while Riyan Parag and Vaibhav Suryavanshi contributed 39 and 34 runs respectively.
For Rajasthan, Wanindu Hasaranga picked up two wickets, while Jofra Archer, Sandeep Sharma, and Tushar Deshpande took one wicket apiece.
