Mountaineer Baljit Kaur passes away while descending Annapurna peak

New Delhi: Mountaineer Baljit Kaur passed away after conquering the Annapurna peak located at an altitude of 8,000 feet in Nepal. Baljit Kaur went missing when she was coming back down after conquering the peak. Baljit Kaur went missing from Camp-4.

She had conquered the peak without using supplemental oxygen. She was the first Indian mountaineer to scale four 8,000-metre peaks in less than a month. 
The camp organisers have sent three helicopters to locate Baljit Kaur’s body. Baljit Kaur’s body has not been found yet. Earlier on Monday, 36-year-old mountaineer Anurag Malu, a resident of Rajasthan, also died. So far, three climbers have lost their lives in this camp. These include India’s Anurag Malu and Baljeet Kaur as well as Ireland’s Noel Hanna.
