No immediate relief from Supreme Court to Arvind Kejriwal, next hearing on April 29

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Monday sought response from the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s plea challenging his arrest in a money laundering case linked to the alleged excise policy scam.

A bench of Justices Sanjiv Khanna and Dipankar Datta issued notice to the ED on Kejriwal’s plea challenging the Delhi High Court order which had upheld his arrest in the case.

The bench asked the ED to file its response to the plea by April 24. The bench said the matter would be heard in the week commencing April 29.

That is, Kejriwal will have to remain in jail for the time being. Kejriwal is currently lodged in Tihar Jail.
