PM Modi leaves for South Africa to attend BRICS summit
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday left for Johannesburg in South Africa to attend the 15th BRICS Summit to be held from August 22 to 24. PM Modi’s statement has come out before his visit to South Africa and Greece. This statement has been issued by the Prime Minister’s Office.
“I am visiting the Republic of South Africa from 22-24 August 2023 at the invitation of President Cyril Ramaphosa of South Africa to participate in the 15th BRICS Summit to be held in Johannesburg under the Chairmanship of South Africa. I also look forward to holding bilateral meetings with some of the leaders present in Johannesburg.”
At the invitation of Prime Minister of Greece Kyriakos Mitsotakis, PM Modi will travel from South Africa to Athens, Greece on August 25, 2023. This will be his first visit to this ancient land.” I have the honour of being the first Indian Prime Minister to visit Greece after 40 years,” PM said.
