PM Modi to address three election rallies in Jammu and Kashmir: BJP
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address three election rallies in Jammu and Kashmir, Jammu and Kashmir General Secretary Ashok Kaul said.
Modi will address two rallies in Jammu division and one in Kashmir, they said. Union Home Minister Amit Shah will release the BJP’s election manifesto in Jammu on September 6 during his two-day visit, the BJP leader said.
Kaul said the people of Kashmir have faith in the Narendra Modi-led government and will support the BJP during the assembly polls.
The Congress and the National Conference (NC) have forged a pre-poll alliance to give a united fight to the BJP.
The NC is fielding candidates on 52 seats and the Congress on 31 seats, while the two parties have left two seats, one for the CPI(M) in the Valley and the other for the Panthers Party in Jammu division.
In five seats of Nagrota, Banihal, Doda and Bhaderwah in Jammu division and Sopore in the Valley, both the NC and the Congress will field candidates to join what the alliance is calling a ‘friendly contest’.
There are 90 assembly seats in Jammu and Kashmir. Of these, nine are ST seats and seven are SC reserved seats.
