Power subsidy of 46 lakh families in Delhi ends today

New Delhi: Power subsidy of 46 lakh families in Delhi will end today and they will get increased electricity bills without any subsidy from Monday as the Cabinet’s decision to increase the power subsidy is pending with the Lieutenant Governor, Power Minister Atishi said today.

She said she had sought five minutes’ time to meet Delhi Lt Governor V K Saxena over the power subsidy issue, but he did not respond.
She clarified that the Delhi government has allocated the budget for power subsidy, the amount cannot be released until the Lieutenant Governor returns the file related to it.
