Pulwama widows row: Police resort to lathi charge on violent protest by BJP workers in Rajasthan

New Delhi: The tussle between the Rajasthan government and the BJP has intensified over the matter of protest by widows of the jawans who lost their lives in the 2019 Pulwama terror attack.

Jaipur Police removed the widows of three martyrs who had been protesting against the Ashok Gehlot government for 10 days at and BJP MP Kirori Lal Meena was detained while supporting them yesterday.
Today, BJP workers are protesting fiercely against it. BJP workers today went on a rampage while marching towards Ashok Gehlot’s residence. The protesters pelted stones and broke police barricades. After this, the police resorted to lathi charge. Right now both the police and the protesters are face to face.
The widows of three soldiers killed in the 2019 Pulwama terror attack were removed by the police on Friday morning while protesting outside Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot’s house in Jaipur and shifted to hospitals near their residential areas.
The BJP criticised the state government, calling the action an “insult to the heroes” and accused it of not fulfilling the promises made to the families.
