Punjab’s most expensive toll free for 3 days, Farmers continue to protest at Ladowal toll barrier

Chandigarh: Punjab’s most expensive toll plaza Ladowal has been closed for the last 72 hours. More than 1 lakh vehicles have passed without paying toll tax. NHAI has suffered a loss of about Rs 3 crore. The NHAI is proving helpless in coordinating with the protesting farmers.

The farmers are adamant on their demand that the toll should be fixed at Rs 150 per vehicle, but the NHAI officials are ignoring the demands of the farmers. Due to this, the groups of farmers are gradually increasing at Ladowal toll plaza.
