Rajnath meets opposition leaders to arrive at consensus on Lok Sabha Speaker

New Delhi: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh today reached out to opposition parties as part of the ruling National Democratic Alliance’s (NDA) efforts to arrive at a consensus on the name of the Lok Sabha Speaker.

The NDA candidates for this important post will file their nominations today. Senior BJP leader Rajnath Singh spoke to other opposition leaders, including Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and DMK leader and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin, in an attempt to build a consensus, sources said.
