New Delhi: The Maharashtra government has reversed its decision to appoint a non-Sikh as administrator of Takhat Sachkhand Shri Hazur Abchalnagar Sahib. Under pressure from Sikh organisations, the Maharashtra government has appointed retired Sikh IAS officer Dr Satbir Singh as the new administrator at Takht Sri Hazur Sahib.
The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), a supreme body of Sikhs, had also protested against the appointment of non-Sikh as the administrator of the Sikh institution.
