Rouse Avenue court issues notices to Sonia, Rahul Gandhi in National Herald case
New Delhi : Trouble has mounted for Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi in the National Herald case, as the Rouse Avenue court in Delhi has taken cognisance of the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) charge sheet filed under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
The court has issued notices to Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and other accused, directing them to appear before it at the next hearing.
The case pertains to alleged financial irregularities involving the National Herald newspaper and its parent company, Associated Journals Limited (AJL), in which the Gandhis have been named as accused.
The court had earlier heard the ED’s charge sheet on April 25, 2025, but refrained from issuing notices due to incomplete documentation.
With the required documents now submitted, the court has moved forward in summoning the accused for proceedings linked to the alleged money laundering case.
