S Jaishankar and Antony Blinken to meet amid Indo-Canadian diplomatic tensions, US says stand on Canada row already made clear
New Delhi: External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar will meet US Secretary of State Antony Blinken amid diplomatic tensions between India and Canada for some time. The meeting is likely on Thursday. The mutual relations between Canada and India have not been going well for some time due to the killing of Khalistani terrorist Nijjar in June this year.
Officials from both sides have remained silent about the meeting between S Jaishankar and Antony Blinken.
No one is doing anything clearly about the agenda of the meeting. However, it is believed that during this meeting, the US can definitely raise this issue to normalize the relationship between India and Canada, which has been its old friend.
State Department spokesperson Mathew Miller did not share information pertaining to the meeting but said that US has already made its stand on Canada row clear.
