Sachin Tendulkar’s security jawan commits suicide by shooting himself

Mumbai: A State Reserve Police Force (SRPF) jawan attached to the security of Bharat Ratna Sachin Tendulkar allegedly shot himself at his ancestral home in Jamner town, police said on Wednesday.

The deceased has been identified as Prakash Kapade, who had gone on vacation to his native place. Kapde, 39, who shot himself in the neck with his service gun, is survived by his elderly parents, wife and two minor children, a brother.

The incident took place around 1.30 am, police said. The exact cause of the alleged suicide is being investigated. The body has been sent for postmortem.
