Mid-Day Meal and ASHA Workers on Election Duty to Receive Rs 200 Honorarium Per Day: Sibin C

Chandigarh: In preparation for the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 in Punjab, the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Sibin C, has announced that mid-day meal and ASHA workers, who are engaged in election duties, will receive an honorarium of Rs. 200 per day.

Sibin C said that mid-day meal workers will be tasked with preparing food for the polling parties. Additionally, considering the anticipated hot weather conditions during the polling day on June 1, ASHA workers will be stationed at polling booths to provide immediate assistance to polling staff or voters experiencing health issues.

The CEO said that ASHA workers will also be compensated at the rate of Rs. 200 per day. He further informed that a directive has been issued to all District Election Officers-cum-Deputy Commissioners of Punjab for the implementation of this honorarium scheme for mid-day meal and ASHA workers.
