Siddaramaiah to be CM; DK Shivakumar his deputy, oath ceremony on May 20
New Delhi: After several days of brainstorming in Karnataka, the picture of who will be the Chief Minister has become clear. The Congress has also fixed the date for the swearing-in ceremony of Karnataka’s next Chief Minister will be Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar. Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal said that the oath-taking ceremony will be held on May 20 at 12.30 pm. Other cabinet ministers, including the chief minister and deputy chief minister, will also take oath on the same day, he said.
Siddaramaiah will be the new Chief Minister of Karnataka, while DK Shivakumar will be the Deputy Chief Minister. The party got a majority on 13 May, the CLP meeting was held on 14 May, in which the Congress party made observers. “Congress is a democratic party. We believe in consensus, not dictatorship. Both Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar are very important for the party.
