Supreme Court refuses urgent hearing on Kejriwal’s bail plea
New Delhi: The Supreme Court today refused to give an urgent hearing on the interim bail granted to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. The Delhi Chief Minister had sought extension of the interim bail granted till June 1 by seven days on medical grounds.
A bench of Justices J K Maheshwari and K V Vishwanathan said the decision to extend the interim bail will be taken by the Chief Justice of the apex court as the verdict against Kejriwal in the main case has been reserved.
Advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi, appearing for Kejriwal, made several arguments. Kejriwal was arrested by the ED on March 21 in a money laundering case related to the liquor policy.
Kejriwal was granted bail on May 10 after spending 50 days in jail. His 21-day bail ends on June 1.
