Two deaths in India due to H3N2 virus

New Delhi: Two deaths from influenza H3N2 virus have been reported in the country including one from Haryana and one from Karnataka state.

The cases of cold, cough and fever are increasing rapidly in the country these days. According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), a type of ‘influenza-A’ virus is responsible for this.
According to the Indian Council of Medical Research, there has been an increase in cases of fever and cold and cough due to H3N2, the A subtype of influenza virus, for the last two to three months.
The Indian Medical Association has also informed that the seasonal fever is still spreading rapidly. The H3N2 virus has also been shown to have symptoms similar to Covid-19 that affect people of all ages. There have been two deaths in India due to the H3N2 virus.
