Wrestlers detained while marching towards Parliament House; police also detained the farmer leaders
New Delhi: The wrestlers, who were marching from Jantar Mantar to Parliament House, have been detained by the police. The wrestlers say that they wanted to take out a peaceful march but the police did not listen to them.
Earlier, the wrestlers broke the barricades of the police while trying to take out a march towards the Parliament House. Earlier in the day, a large number of farmers from Punjab and Haryana reached the protest site in connection with the exploitation of women wrestlers.
A large number of police and rapid action teams have been deployed at the Ghazipur border to prevent other farmers from coming to Delhi.
The Haryana Police has also resorted to large-scale barricading to prevent farmers from going to Delhi and detained farmer and khap leaders Hardeep Ahlawat and Mohinder Nandal.
