Punjab govt to withdraw ‘ghar-ghar atta’ scheme

The Punjab and Haryana High Court on Monday heard a crucial hearing on the Aam Aadmi Party’s ambitious ‘ghar ghar atta scheme’. The Punjab government, while filing its reply in the high court, said, “We will come up with a new scheme which will be similar to the central government’s scheme.”

The Punjab government argued in the high court that the ghar-ghar atta scheme would be withdrawn. The Punjab government today filed its reply to the high court’s order during the last hearing following a petition filed by the depot holders and sought withdrawal of the scheme. Meanwhile, the Punjab government filed an affidavit in the high court saying that the Punjab government will come up with a scheme similar to the central government’s scheme.

Earlier, A double bench of the High Court had also given a jolt to the Punjab government over the this ghar-ghar atta scheme, ordering it not to give any rights to any third party. With this decision of the double bench of the High Court, the Aam Aadmi Party’s ghar-ghar atta scheme could not be implemented on October 1.
